13 Lakes

When my troop first attended GTSR we were introduced to the 13 Lakes within five miles of Camp.  We camped at Lake 13,  now “Lake Leverett”.  Those were the days of Bernard’s dehydrated meals and Mossy Pond Stew.  Bears were plentiful in those days and could be heard foraging early in the morning.  The Blue Trail out and the Red Trail in,  Eagle Rangers as troop guides.  Those  were days I remember, and not easily forgotten.  A great introduction for a new troop to the backcountry.

  1. Hey George, great website. I think I have hiked part of the 13 lakes trail. The pictures look very familiar to me. If you can find my last hike on every trail you can compare.

  2. Lake 6, my favorite…all in part of the cliff jump!

  3. Good times fishing at Lake 6 and an introduction to my love of cliff jumping.

  4. Looking forward to following your blog.
